Healthy Garbanzo Bean Snack

GarbanzoBeanSnack

These roasted garbanzo beans are delicious!  I love eating them with a cocktail or glass of wine during happy hour at home (it saves me from eating copious amounts of salty nuts).  This is a very quick and easy snack to make. You can tailor the spices to your own personal tastes.  In addition to being super tasty, cialis this snack is actually healthy too!  Woohoo!  I love it when taste and health align! Garbanzo beans (chickpeas), case are so nutrient-dense, medical that Dr. Perricone considers them to be necessary for anyone seeking an anti-aging diet food. Garbanzo beans are high in protein, high in fiber, loaded with vitamins and contain phytochemicals, which are plant properties that stave off chronic disease.  Garbanzo beans are an excellent source of complex carbs. They rate low on the glycemic index, and are even good for diabetics.

Ingredients:

1 can garbanzo beans (drained and rinsed)

1/2 tsp EVOO (I used EVOO with black truffle oil from Trader Joe’s)

Spices of your choice (for this one I used a Moroccan spice mix, garlic powder, and juice from half a lemon).

You can really tailor these to your own tastes. I’ve done it with curry; salt & pepper, garlic & rosemary; and I suppose you could do a sweet mix if you wanted.

Roast on foil covered cookie sheet at 375 degrees for 20 mins (or until desired crispiness is achieved).  I like them crunchy but I do think the flavor is stronger when they are less crunchy. You can stir them halfway through cooking if you want, but it is not necessary.  Enjoy!
