Frozen Grapes: Little Bombs of Awesome

Grapes make a great snack fresh or frozen, health but if you opt for the frozen state, medicine they last way longer and they better satisfy the treat craving. Biting into a frozen grape is like biting into a crunchy grape with a smooth sorbet surprise inside. If you’re feeling really fancy, use them as ice cubes in a tall glass of water to stay hydrated while snacking, killing two birds with one stone. Frozen grapes on skewers are a great summer party snack. My kids love them.

Did you know that grapes are actually berries and have quite a powerful health profile? Though grapes taste super sweet, they are classified as a low glycemic index food. They improve blood sugar balance and are packed with vitamins and phytonutrients, one of which is resveratrol, which is believed to play a role in longevity. 1 cup of grapes is approximately 100 calories.

Prepare your grapes for freezing by first rinsing them with cool running water. Place the grapes in a ziplock bag or a tupperware container. No need to dry them after rinsing as the water on the grapes will form a nice frosty finish. If you prefer a sweet flavor try freezing red or black grapes.
