The effect that diet can have on you now and in the future is astounding.  Putting the right food in your body, is akin to putting the right gasoline in your car - the type of fuel affects how well it functions.  Making the right food choices can reduce, eliminate, or prevent a variety of ailments.  In the case of salmon, this “SuperFood” has been shown to lower heart disease risk, help arthritis, reduce depression and possibly help with memory loss and Alzheimer’s.  When I think of food as fuel for my most important machine, I tend to make better choices. Today’s lunch is last night’s grilled salmon (in Montreal Steak Spice) over salad with a splash of rice vinegar as dressing. Yummy AND healthy! In addition to salmon’s amazing Omega-3 benefits, several recent studies have shown that salmon also contains bioactive peptides that provide special support for joint cartilage, insulin effectiveness, and the control of inflammation in the digestive tract.  It’s also chock full of vitamins and minerals and high in protein! High protein foods require more energy from the body to process and are also good for muscle building, which in turn helps to increase fat burning and metabolism (assuming you are also working out). So go eat some salmon this week!
